Clearinghouse for Youth Studies (ACYS)
The Australian Clearinghouse for Youth Studies (ACYS)
provides information products and services for those working in the youth field
and for anyone with an interest in youth.
The target audience for the clearinghouse includes health
workers, policy-makers, researchers, educators, youth workers and youth service
providers, as well as students and parents.
Provides information regarding employment for youths,
helpful fact sheets regarding unions, workplace agreements, employment
contracts, minimum wages etc.
Family Law information for children re things affecting
families such as separation; a safe environment; services available to help
youth; fees; case management; lawyers; mediation; effects on children;
different families; parental responsibilities; parenting orders and making
things work. Questions answered such as

mental health". Stories, art and more for under 18s.
This site is not specifically for youth but provides all the
information necessary regarding various types of visa and immigration
requirements.
La Trobe
University's Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS)
The Centre is currently conducting a survey about the many issues affecting the
lives of same sex attracted youth (SSAY) aged 14 to 21. For survey details

National
Charter of Rights for Children and Young People
This project was initiated by the Australian Youth
Foundation and undertaken jointly by the AYF and the National
Children's and Youth Law Centre, with assistance from the National Aboriginal
Youth Law Centre. Based on the United Nation's Convention on
the Rights of the Child (which Australia has ratified) the project aimed to
lobby for incorporation of the rights of children and young people in
appropriate legislation — to ensure adequate protection of many particularly
vulnerable individuals in our community.

of Youth
A package of youth initiatives to provide the chance for young people,
organisations working with young people and the Federal Government to exchange
ideas. Eg. The National Youth Roundtable was established by the Federal
Government to create a national forum where young Australians can speak
directly with Government and to ensure that their views are taken into account
in policy-making processes. The Roundtable brings together 50 young people,
aged 15 to 24, to meet with the Government and provide input on issues of
importance to young people.

Info about International Youth Week from May 6-12. - Youth Action Network is a
national youth-for-youth non-profit organization which aims to empower and
motivate young people to take on social and environmental issues that concerns
them. The aim of Youth Week is to bring the positive achievement of young
people to forefront of the society's consciousness; To give youth a
chance to see what other young people are doing in their communities and inform
them as to how they can get involved.
